Experience
Bauer Orthodontic Specialists have over thirty years experience in treating all types of orthodontic cases. We are now treating second and third generations.
Excellence
Bauer Orthodontic Specialists are uniquely excellent. Both doctors are certified with the American Board of Orthodontics and they are two of only 2,023 orthodontists in the world who have earned the title of Diplomate of The American Board of Orthodontics.
Newest Trends
Dr. Joe Bauer is a professional who has been on the teaching faculty at St. Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education for over 25 years. At the University, Dr. Joe follows the cutting edge research of students, and both Dr. Joe and Dr. Matt are members of the Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation.
Offices
Bauer Orthodontic Specialists have two offices that are "state of the art" with digital technology, tomography, and sterilization.
Appliances
Bauer Orthodontic Specialists uses only highest quality appliances, including GAC's Lingualcare Hidden Braces and GAC's InOvation bracket in clear and metal. This bracket keeps the wire where it is supposed to be without the use of wire or elastic ties. The InOvation bracket may be a little more expensive but in the end it will be worth it due to reduced discomfort, shorter appointments, and fewer emergency visits with broken brackets.
Indirect Bonding
Bauer Orthodontic Specialists is always looking for ways to enhance our patients' visits. One of the ways that we are able to achieve this is through the use of indirect bonding. In this technique, brackets are positioned outside of the patient's mouth on a constructed model and transferred to the patient's mouth via a pre-fabricated tray. This allows for increased accuracy of bracket placement and drastically decreases the amount of time our patients spend in the chair during their initial bonding procedure.
Cone Beam Computerized Technology
We are excited to announce the installation of new technology in our office. This new technology is called CBCT or Cone Beam Computerized Tomography. What this does is take a 20-40 second scan of a patient's head and creates a digital "volume" which can be viewed in three dimensions. This 3-D volume has virtually every x-ray we would need in order to diagnose and form a treatment plan for orthodontic, orthodontic/surgical and TMJ cases. It will also prove invaluable in cases where implants would need to be placed.
This new technology is "cutting edge" and is the future of x-ray imaging. We are proud to be able to offer 3-D imaging to our current and future patients.
Staff
Most importantly, Bauer Orthodontic Specialists has the most professional and friendly staff waiting to serve you.
